The Jewish Theatre Company's 'The Wizard of Oz' - Middleton Arena Theatre, Manchester

Last week I went to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz (sorry, couldn’t resist).

But its true, I did, as I was back at the Middleton Arena theatre photographing the JTC’s latest - and probably most colourful yet – production, The Wizard of Oz.

As I’ve come to expect with JTC productions, the standard was outstanding, with Alex Waxman leading from the front as Dorothy, backed up by Ivor Farley as the lion, Michael Bowers as the scarecrow, and Jaysen Lewin as the tinman.

Then there was the somewhat terrifying, and very very green, Natasha Goldstone as the Wicked Witch of the West, contrasted against the angelic Lisa Jacobs as the Good Witch of the South, and all surrounded by some of the cutest little munchkins around.

But as with all such productions, none of it comes together without the direction, choreography, staging, lighting, scenery, make-up and costumes, and backstage help that others don’t get to see.

Another huge congratulations to the entire theatre company!
