As a wise groom once said to me, you can’t go around calling every wedding you photograph ‘awesome’, lest no one believe you any more.
And whilst there’s some truth to that, when your wedding is as awesome as Darren and Natasha’s really was, I’d argue it really can’t be helped!
Held at the beautiful purpose-built Sandhole Oak Barn wedding venue in Macclesfield, there are few things to make a wedding photographer happier than arriving at a new venue and discovering that its absolutely beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery from all sides, and a lake in the middle.
As always, my day started early, at the very busy bridal prep, where Natasha and her numerous bridesmaids got ready for the day ahead.
The completely relaxed atmosphere set the tone for the day, and it wasn’t long before Darren had arrived and undergone his somewhat shorter groom prep.
One thing that can’t be planned (at least, not here in Manchester!) was the weather, which saw the sun shining pretty much the entire day, and allowing everyone to enjoy the lovely surroundings after the ceremony.
And not one to miss an opportunity, I couldn’t resist getting Darren and Natasha to pop out during the sunset for a few lake-side shots….well worth the additional effort in my eyes!
But really, you know it’s a pretty special wedding with a pretty special atmosphere when, in the middle of dinner, pretty much the entire wedding party starts belting out songs with the band, most stood up on their chairs.
And credit must go to Creation Musical Services for not just getting the crowd going in the first place, but keeping the dancefloor packed the entire night!
All in all, a really amazing day, and a huge congrats to Darren and Natasha!
