Ilana & Adam's Wedding - Hilton Hotel, Manchester

Ilana and Adam celebrated their beautiful wedding at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester city centre.

As always, my day started early, photographing the lovely Ilana and her bridesmaids during the bridal prep. As a photographer, I can often get a sense of the day ahead by the atmosphere during the bridal preperations, so its always great to see everyone looking so relaxed and ready to enjoy the day ahead by the time I arrive.

And this theme continued as I joined Adam and his groomsmen as they underwent their grooms prep in another part of the hotel. I even managed to get them outside for a few minutes before the weather became a bit more problematic.

The ceremony itself, led by Ilana’s step-father, was beautiful and before we knew it, the happy couple were married and it was on to a few quick pictures of the newlyweds. Now, I have photographed countless functions and events at the Hilton, but rarely on a day quite as windy as this was. And typically, when I think ‘windy day’, I think long flowing veils and/or dramatic wind-swept hair dancing in the breeze. But such was the strength of the gusts I actually feared for the safety of the veil, and so we remained indoors to take advantage of the hotel’s features.

And then it was on to the proper action of the dancefloor, where there was so much going on it was my challenge just to keep up. But really, all I want is to be able to capture everyone having the most fun, so I couldn’t have been happier right in the centre, taking the occasional bump if it meant that much more immediacy in my pictures.

The speeches were also great, and as often happens, I found myself laughing along with all the guests at numerous points during the evening (whilst snapping away, of course!).

But all in all, it was a perfect day and night for a perfectly matched couple….another huge, huge congrats to Ilana and Adam!

Here is but a selection of images from their big day:
