Shana and Jonny celebrated their beautiful wedding at my old haunt, the Hilton Suite, Prestwich.
My day began with Shana at her home with one of the more unusual wedding guests I’ve photographed, a cute bearded dragon. In fact, during my initial meeting with the couple the little lizard was taken out of its tank for my benefit, only for it to go and poo all over the carpet – perhaps my favourite ever pre-wedding meeting moment to date….who knew such a little thing could create such a stink!
Anyroad, bearded dragons aside, the day itself went perfectly to plan, with Shana arriving by vintage car, and me catching up with Jonny for the start of the tisch.
You can often get a sense of the day ahead by the goings-on in the tisch, so with plenty of singing mixed in with genuinely heartfelt words from various family and friends, the stage was effectively set for what was to come.
The ceremony itself was beautiful, and we headed out to Barnfield Park for a few quick snaps of the couple as they enjoyed their first moments as man and wife in relative peace and quiet.
But then it was on to the party, and what a party!
Anyone that knows me and my work knows that I love an action-packed dancefloor, and with so much going on, at such a pace, I was really kept on my toes….exactly the way I like it.
Speeches can often go one of several ways, but I think its rare to hear people speaking with such a warmth about their hosts, with such passion and tenderness, that it really was quite moving to witness.
All in all, it was a perfect day for a perfect couple.
And here for your viewing pleasure is but a selection of my images from the day:
