Jonah celebrated his amazing barmitzvah with an action-filled party at the Radisson Blu Hotel at Manchester Airport.
Having photographed Jonah’s call-up earlier in the week at Whitefield Shul, and knowing the family and their friends personally, my expectations for the evening were admittedly pretty high from the outset, and they weren’t to be disappointed.
After capturing a few quick family pictures before their guests arrived - including one of Jonah in the coolest light-up-letters I’ve seen yet, supplied by the ever-brilliant Qube Events – it was on to the party.
Jonah made quite the entrance, making his way on to the dancefloor through a storm of party poppers and confetti canons, before the DJ pumped the volume a bit more and the guests stormed the dancefloor.
The next 20 minutes or so were pure mayhem (in the very best sense, of course), with so much action and energy to capture I had my work cut out just keeping up.
The speeches throughout the evening were all genuinely amusing, and with a photobooth and face-painting throughout the evening, there was always something for the younger ones to do.
But the night belonged on the dancefloor, and when everyone is so clearly up for a great time, you know you’re on to a winner.
I always imagine how satisfying it must be to spend months planning an event, to see it go so well, and with a full dancefloor right until the very end, there was no doubt at all that this was a huge success.
Another huge, huge congrats to the entire family, especially Jonah.
And here for your viewing pleasure is but a small selection of my images from the night:
