Claire and Stuart celebrated their beautiful wedding at one of my most frequented venues, The Midland Hotel, Manchester.
Having already photographed the couple during an engagement shoot many months earlier, I already knew how easy they would be to capture, and so it proved to be, with Claire’s beaming smile in particular being ever present.
My day began as always at the bridal prep, as Clare readied herself for the day ahead with various family members.
Before I knew it, I was off to catch up with Stuart for his groom’s prep with a few of his boys, before rejoining Claire for her final touches.
It was whilst running around during the morning that I first found Stephanie Struth hard at work with her easel and paints. Stephanie is a brilliant live artist the couple had found, who over the course of several hours during the day painted a real scene from their wedding ceremony of the happy couple underneath their Chuppah. The final result was both brilliant, and made me somewhat jealous of her skills. But I digress.
The ceremony itself, held in the hotel’s Trafford Suite, was beautiful and by midway through the day they were officially man and wife.
After heading out for a few pictures by Manchester Town Hall, I then spent a hectic few minutes racing around the reception room trying to photograph as many of the table centre-pieces as humanly possible – Claire and Stuart had put quite some effort into sourcing and painting little animal toys for their nature theme, which worked beautifully.
And then the dancefloor action started, with the new husband and wife making their way onto the dancefloor through a torrential downpour of confetti.
Anyone that knows my work will know I love photographing lively action, and that’s exactly what I was treated to, with lots of spinning, jumping, swinging and general good-natured merriment.
The speeches throughout the night were all warm and amusing – with an American contingent to boot – and The Storm Function Band absolutely rocked it throughout the night.
All in all, an amazing time was had by everyone in attendance, and here for your viewing pleasure is but a small selection of my images from their big day:
