Rebecca and Alex celebrated their amazing wedding day under the shining sun of a clear blue sky at Caswell House in Oxfordshire.
When the happy couple initially enquired about my potentially covering their big day, they only had one real request….to get a good shot of them doing battle over a table-tennis table.
Now, I come from a family of ultra-competitive table-tennis players – fortunately, I was always the best of my three brothers…no, honestly! - so such a request impressed me no end.
Caswell House is a beautiful 15th century manor house in Oxfordshire with several stunning medieval barns, and proved to be the most idyllic setting for Rebecca and Alex to get married in.
Slightly unusually for me, I started my day with the groom and groomsmen, snapping away as they put their finishing touches together, before heading across the courtyard to Rebecca in her bridal prep.
We couldn’t have asked for better weather than we received, with clear skies the order of the day, setting the tone for all that came ahead.
The ceremony itself was beautiful, with various readings by family members, and finishing with a traditional confetti run leading to the gardens outside.
Which is where we found some bowls and croquet, as well as the aforementioned table-tennis table, and it wasn’t long before bride and groom were facing off in a fierce rivalry for the ages. Kind of. Not really.
The atmosphere the entire day was so fun and relaxed, and all the guests so warm and welcoming, it really was a pleasure to just float along in the background, capturing all the goings on.
And I even managed to teach brilliant videographer Stefan Remneson of YSD Media a lesson or two on the table-tennis table during the first course of the wedding breakfast…a true rare treat for me, which he will definitely corroborate. Definitely.
The speeches were all highly amusing, making it particularly easy for me to capture some great reactions.
And by the time the party got underway in the evening, it was clear how up for a good time everyone was, with some quality dancefloor action ensuing.
All in all, a perfect day for the newlyweds, and I can’t offer them a big enough congratulations.
