Talia and Eli celebrated their incredible wedding at Manchester’s Mercure Piccadilly Hotel with some of the craziest dancefloor action I’ve seen yet.
But before the mayhem, came the prep, and as ever my day started early, photographing all the goings on as Talia got herself ready for the day ahead in her parents’ home.
Then I made the journey into Manchester city centre, where I caught up with Eli and his boys as they underwent their groom prep ahead of his tish.
Bearing in mind there was already an air of excitement as the boys put on their suits, by the time we reached the tish that went up another level.
The ceremony – under a stunning chuppah beautifully decorated with floating flowers by Event Flowers by Mirelle – was touching and heartfelt, and as soon as the groom smashed the glass as is customary at Jewish weddings, then things went a little nuts.
Before I had time to blink the guests had erupted into raucous singing and dancing down the aisle, which continued all the way as the couple exited the ceremony room, walked through the hotel and signed their marriage certificates.
So by the time the family pictures were in the bag and we’d taken a few portraits of the newlyweds together, I knew the excitement was at a peak, and the dancefloor was about to feel the weight of hundreds of dancing feet.
And honestly, it was utter carnage (in the best possible way)!
Energy levels were through the roof, and by the time I came off the dancefloor after that first round of dancing, I felt like I’d not just got some cool pics, but I’d…..survived.
The speeches throughout the evening were in turn both warm and amusing, but when an atmosphere is as electric as it was at Talia and Eli’s, the action simply dominates proceedings.
Special mention to Shtar, who were genuinely incredible on the night, pumping out tune after tune with supreme skill and gusto to match the jubilant guests.
Another special mention to event organiser Joanne Lazarus, who pulled together the day in style and kept things moving like clockwork.
All in all, a truly unbelievable wedding, and a huge, huge mazal tov to the happy couple.
