Rachel and Jonah’s Jewish wedding at the Midland Hotel in Manchester was a fantastic celebration from start to finish, combining all the warmth, tradition and energy that make Jewish weddings so special. The day brought together family and friends from across the UK and beyond, and it was a real pleasure to document every moment as it unfolded.

The day began with relaxed preparations at the Midland Hotel, one of Manchester’s most iconic wedding venues. Rachel and her bridal party spent the morning getting ready in one of the hotel’s beautiful suites, with the talented teams from Make-Up By Sophie Woolfstein and Bridal by Etti creating a look that was both elegant and natural. Meanwhile Jonah and his friends were preparing nearby, with the atmosphere gradually building as guests began to arrive.

Everything ran smoothly thanks to the careful planning of Clare Spieler Events, who ensured the entire day flowed effortlessly. The Midland is a wonderful venue for Jewish weddings in Manchester, offering a great mix of classic architecture, spacious rooms and central city location.

As guests gathered, the traditional tish began, with Jonah surrounded by friends and family. The room quickly filled with singing, laughter and anticipation, setting the tone for the celebrations ahead. Soon after came the bedeken, which took place on the aisle and is always one of the most meaningful moments of a Jewish wedding day. Seeing Rachel and Jonah together for that moment, surrounded by their closest family and friends, was incredibly special.

The ceremony itself took place in the Trafford Room, beautifully dressed with flowers by Flowers By Mirelle. The chuppah ceremony was warm, emotional and full of joy, with guests gathered closely around as Rachel and Jonah exchanged vows. The atmosphere in the room was enhanced by the production team at Artisan Productions, who helped ensure everything looked and sounded perfect.

After the ceremony, we stepped outside for some couple portraits around the Midland and nearby Central Library. Manchester city centre provides some fantastic backdrops for wedding photography, and Rachel and Jonah were completely relaxed, making these portraits feel natural and effortless. It’s always nice to step away from the celebrations briefly and capture a few quiet moments together before heading back to the party.

Back inside, the energy quickly ramped up as the evening celebrations began. The dance floor was packed throughout the night, with incredible music from Jam Hot Showband keeping everyone on their feet. Jewish wedding dance floors are always memorable, and this one was no exception, with guests joining in for the hora and plenty of high-energy dancing well into the evening. The bar from 2Life Bar kept the drinks flowing and added to the lively atmosphere.

Speeches during the reception brought a perfect balance of humour and heartfelt moments. There were plenty of laughs, along with some genuinely touching words about Rachel and Jonah, their families and the journey that brought them to this day.

Capturing the day alongside John at New Venture Wedding Films was a pleasure, and it’s always great working with videographers who bring the same calm, unobtrusive approach to documenting weddings.

Rachel and Jonah’s wedding at the Midland Hotel was a wonderful example of how special Jewish weddings in Manchester can be. With thoughtful planning, fantastic suppliers and a room full of people who clearly adore the couple, the day was filled with memorable moments from start to finish.

Confidence doesn’t always arrive with a bold entrance. Sometimes, it builds quietly, step by step, as we show up for ourselves day after day. It grows when we choose to try, even when we’re unsure of the outcome. Every time you take action despite self-doubt, you reinforce the belief that you’re capable. Confidence isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about trusting that you can figure it out along the way.

The key to making things happen isn’t waiting for the perfect moment; it’s starting with what you have, where you are. Big goals can feel overwhelming when viewed all at once, but momentum builds through small, consistent action. Whether you’re working toward a personal milestone or a professional dream, progress comes from showing up — not perfectly, but persistently. Action creates clarity, and over time, those steps forward add up to something real.

You don’t need to be fearless to reach your goals, you just need to be willing. Willing to try, willing to learn, and willing to believe that you’re capable of more than you know. The road may not always be smooth, but growth rarely is. What matters most is that you keep going, keep learning, and keep believing in the version of yourself you’re becoming.
