“Rob was extremely friendly, professional and easy going - it was a pleasure to work with him on our special day. He managed to capture every moment so perfectly and didn't stop at anything to get the perfect shot including jumping in and out of bushes, lying on the floor and standing on tables. Thanks again Rob!”
- Uriel, groom
“Rob is a fantastic photographer, very easy to work with and we are delighted with all the photos of our daughter’s wedding. He did an amazing job capturing the most intricate of details of the whole day perfectly from the make-up, the hair, the preparations at both the bride and grooms houses, the chuppah, the happy couple at Heaton Park and the evening. All amazing photos and beyond perfect. We would highly recommend Rob without hesitation, he’s a true professional”
- Richard, father of the bride
Bar & Bat Mitzvah Photography Reviews
“We used Rob to take photos of our son's barmitzvah purely from images he'd taken previously which blew us away. To say he didn't disappoint would be a huge understatement - every photo is incredible - he has essentially turned every moment into a piece of art! He hasn't just pointed and shot...he's captured emotion and energy in every photo and ensured that the essence of our weekend lives on forever. Thank you Rob... you were a pleasure to have on the night - absolutely everywhere and yet we didn't notice you anywhere - and the end result exceeded all expectations. You're a true talent behind the camera”
- Matthew, father of bar mitzvah boy
“Each and every picture has brought huge smiles to our faces. You captured so many precious moments with groups of family and friends, some of whom have not had the opportunity to be in the same room for many years. What we wanted for Jadon was a great party with all the important people in our lives and your pictures captured exactly what we felt throughout the evening. We decided not to have a video of the night and really there was never any need as your photographs have told the story of the evening incredibly beautifully. You're a very talented photographer with just the loveliest manner and I hope to have future opportunities to work with you. Meanwhile, it might take us a while to come back to you with the list of photographs we'd like for the album. Many, many thanks for a perfect job!”
- Yael Knight, mother of barmitzvah boy
"The pictures Rob took on the evening captured everything that was going on – some pictures look like he must have taken them from one position, and flown across the room to take the same picture again but from a different angle - just brilliant! As this was Oli’s barmitzvah we wanted some great shots of him – Rob, of course, came up with the goods. How he enticed Oli outside on a freezing January day and got some of the nicest and most relaxed smiles out of him I will never know. Rob is superb. You can tell how much he enjoys his work and cares for his clients. Thank you Rob, I believe we have you booked in again already."
- Mark Levine, father of the barmitzvah boy
"Thank you Rob for capturing every special moment of our daughter's batmitzvah. We were highly impressed with the quality of the photos and now have many treasured memories."
- Wendy, mother of batmitzvah girl
Wedding & Bar/Bat Mitzvah Photography Reviews & FAQs
-
A. Most people mention how relaxed the whole experience felt.
Rather than feeling like they were being directed all day, they were able to stay present - whether that’s during a wedding or a Bar or Bat Mitzvah - knowing everything important was being captured naturally.
A lot of feedback centres around the calm approach, the ability to blend in, and how the final images reflect both the emotion and atmosphere of the day.
-
A. That’s completely normal…and something I hear often.
My approach is documentary, which means very little posing or interruption. Instead of asking you to perform, I focus on real interactions and genuine moments, so the photos feel natural and unforced.
Whether it’s a wedding or a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, the goal is the same: for you to enjoy the day without feeling self-conscious.
-
A. It’s a balance.
Most of the day is observed naturally, but I’ll step in when it’s helpful - particularly for things like family group photos or short portrait sessions.
Many reviews mention this specifically…being guided when needed, but never feeling like the day is being controlled.
-
Q. Yes…I have experience working across a range of venues, including synagogues, and understand that each setting comes with its own expectations and guidelines.
For Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, I always work respectfully within each shul’s approach to photography. For weddings, I’m equally comfortable adapting to different venues, timelines, and styles of celebration.
-
Q. Yes…I’m based in Manchester and regularly photograph across Cheshire, the North West, and the rest of the UK.
If your wedding or Bar/Bat Mitzvah is further afield, feel free to get in touch - I’m always happy to discuss.
-
A. Most people choose me because of the way the day is documented, not directed.
There’s no heavy staging or constant interruption - just a calm, attentive presence and a focus on what’s genuinely happening.
The result is a set of images that feel personal, honest, and timeless, whether it’s a wedding or a Bar or Bat Mitzvah celebration
-
A. Dates - especially weekends - tend to book well in advance.
If you already have a wedding or Bar/Bat Mitzvah date confirmed, it’s always worth checking availability early, even if you’re still working through the rest of the plans.
-
A. Absolutely.
Reviews give a sense of the experience, but full galleries show how a day is documented from start to finish - from quieter moments through to the bigger celebrations.
I’m always happy to share relevant examples from weddings or Bar and Bat Mitzvahs.
If you’re looking for a photographer who works naturally and unobtrusively, I’d love to hear more about your plans.
